Two Brothers. Big Ideas. Kind Hearts.

George & Alfie Give Back CIC was inspired by two brothers with curious minds, big imaginations and a genuine desire to help. What started with a few simple ideas has grown into a family-led community journey filled with creativity, kindness and real-life experiences.

George and Alfie believe helping others should feel positive, enjoyable and open to everyone. With the support of their parents, Michael and Tara Andrews, they turn the things they love into opportunities to bring people together, care for their surroundings and make a difference.

Where the Journey Began

Like many children, George and Alfie are naturally curious and full of ideas. They enjoy exploring, meeting people, trying new activities and learning how things work.

“How could we use this to help someone?”

A personal interest can become a creative challenge. A family day out can lead to a useful review. Time spent outdoors can inspire an environmental project. An ordinary idea can grow into an activity that other families can enjoy.

Over time, these small moments developed into something much bigger: a way for the boys to learn about their community while making a positive contribution to it.

What began as a collection of simple fundraising ideas has grown into an active and recognised community initiative.

Growing Into a Community Interest Company

As the boys’ ideas and activities continued to grow, George & Alfie Give Back became a Community Interest Company. Becoming a CIC gave the family a clear foundation for developing community activities, working with local organisations and businesses, and creating more opportunities for children and families.

The CIC brings together the different parts of George and Alfie’s journey:

  • Community activities and family events
  • Environmental and wildlife projects
  • Food sharing and reducing waste
  • Exploring and reviewing local places
  • Supporting worthwhile charities and causes
  • Encouraging other young people to get involved

Although the activities are varied, they all share one purpose: using simple ideas to create something positive.

Child-Led, Family-Supported

George and Alfie are at the heart of everything we do.

Their interests, questions and ideas help shape our activities. Michael and Tara provide the adult guidance, planning, safeguarding and practical support needed to turn those ideas into safe and achievable projects. This means the boys can have a genuine voice while learning about responsibility, teamwork and the needs of other people.

We believe children should be listened to, encouraged and given suitable opportunities to contribute. They do not need to wait until adulthood to care about their community or inspire positive change.

Learning Through Real Life

As home-educated children, George and Alfie learn through the people they meet, the places they visit and the projects they help create.

A single activity can involve planning, budgeting, communication, creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. Exploring a local attraction can help them learn about business, history, nature or accessibility. Growing food and caring for animals teaches patience, responsibility and respect for the environment.

These experiences help the boys develop:

Exploring and Sharing Local Places

Family adventures are another important part of our story.

George and Alfie enjoy discovering local attractions, independent businesses, outdoor spaces and unusual places to visit. We share our honest family experiences to help other people decide where to go and what they may need to know before arriving.

We look beyond whether somewhere is simply “good” or “bad.” We share what children enjoyed, what families can expect and practical details that may make a visit easier.

It is also our way of celebrating the hardworking people and organisations creating positive experiences within our community.

Caring for Our Community and Environment

For George and Alfie, giving back is about much more than raising money.

It can mean rescuing food from going to waste, collecting litter, caring for wildlife, growing something from seed, sharing useful information or helping another family enjoy an activity.

These everyday actions teach the boys that making a difference does not always require a grand gesture. Small, consistent acts of care can be just as meaningful.

That belief sits at the heart of everything we do.
